Renders of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 show dual-cameras, thin bezels and a fingerprint scanner

Found on the Weibo page of tipster @KJuma today, is a pair of renders allegedly depicting the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 phablet. Looking at the images, it appears that  there will be a physical home button that most likely will be used as a fingerprint scanner. There is speculation that this could be Qualcomm's Sense ID Ultra-Sonic biometric recognition technology that was unveiled this past March.

Those who find thin bezels attractive will certainly adore the look of the Mi Note 2 render, showing the front of the device. The image displaying the back of the Mi Note 2 shows that the device sports dual-cameras. One could be for the actual photograph and the other could be to capture depth of field information. This allows post-production changes in focus similar to what you would find with a Lytro camera, and the HTC One (M8).

The latest rumors have the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 equipped with a 5.7-inch screen, carrying a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. The phone is powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 820 SoC, with its quad-core Kryo CPU and Adreno 530 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside, along with 32GB/64GB of native storage. A 23MP camera graces the back of the handset, and the 12MP snapper in front will handle selfies and video chats. The generator keeps humming thanks to a 3500mAh battery, which can be quickly brought back to life using Qualcomm's Quick Charge feature. Android 5.1 will be pre-installed, with MIUI 7 running on top.

No word yet when we might see this beastly phone. At this point, the ol' Ouija board says that it all depends on when Qualcomm delivers the Snapdragon 820 chipset. Previous rumors have the chips landing at manufacturers' facilities in December, with the first Snapdragon 820 flavored handsets rolling out in March.
